What is the WhatsApp Business API and why do I need a platform like Recko?

The WhatsApp Business API (now called the WhatsApp Business Platform) is the official way for businesses to send messages at scale via approved templates. It is not the same as the WhatsApp Business app. To use the API you need a Business Solution Provider (BSP) — Recko is built on Twilio's BSP and Meta's Tech Provider Program, so you get a fully compliant setup without dealing with Meta directly. We handle WABA creation, phone-number registration, template approval, billing, and message delivery.

What is the difference between Recko and the free WhatsApp Business app?

The WhatsApp Business app is a single-user mobile app limited to one phone, no automation, no team inbox, no multi-client management, and no marketing-template support. Recko is the API platform: multi-tenant, multi-user, automated, with Meta-approved marketing templates and bulk-send infrastructure.

Will my customers see this is from a 'business'?

Yes. Customers see the verified business name and (after Meta verification) a green tick. Conversations look exactly like consumer WhatsApp on their side.

How long does it take to onboard a new client?

Accepted Answer

Three minutes. We use Meta's Embedded Signup flow: the client logs into Facebook in a popup, picks the business and phone number, and they're registered. No manual paperwork, no waiting on Meta review for the WABA itself.

Three: (1) Coexistence — the client keeps using the WhatsApp Business app on their phone and gains API access in parallel. (2) Twilio-provided number — fastest, no client-side OTP. (3) Bring-your-own number — the client enters their existing business line and verifies via OTP.

Do I need a developer to integrate?

No. Templates, conversations, campaigns, and analytics are all in the dashboard. Developers come in only if you want to integrate Recko with your booking system or CRM via our (upcoming) public API.

What if my client's WABA gets flagged or banned?

Accepted Answer

We surface live status and Twilio error codes (63111, 63051, etc.) inline in the dashboard. Most issues are template-quality related and fixable in minutes. We have one-click sender re-registration when something breaks at Meta.

What template types can I send?

Accepted Answer

Three categories defined by Meta: Utility (transactional — confirmations, reminders, alerts), Marketing (promotional — opt-in required), and Authentication (OTPs). All templates are submitted to Meta on creation; approval status is shown live in the dashboard (pending / approved / rejected / paused).

How long does Meta take to approve a template?

Most templates approve in minutes; some take up to 24 hours. Rejections come with a Meta reason code and we surface them so you can edit and resubmit fast.

Can I edit auto-replies without resubmitting to Meta?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The template body itself needs Meta approval, but the auto-reply text triggered by quick-reply button taps is editable any time inside the dashboard with no resubmission.

Yes. Audience segmentation and race-safe atomic credit debits are built in from day one. Bulk sends respect Meta's per-second send limits and your bundled-credit allowance.

Three plans: Starter €29/month (€6 bundled credits), Growth €99/month (€25 bundled credits), Business €299/month (€75 bundled credits). Above the bundle, you pay per message at our cost × 1.30 (30% margin). Inbound and in-session replies are always free.

In Western Europe (NL/DE/AT/CH): €0.197 per marketing message after the bundle. Utility templates are €0.066 outside the customer-service window, €0.006 inside it. Other geographies are cheaper — UK ~€0.069, US ~€0.036, Brazil ~€0.081, India ~€0.019, Spain ~€0.080, Italy ~€0.089.

Inbound messages from your customers, free-form replies inside the 24-hour customer-service window, quick-reply auto-responses triggered by button taps in-session, and all delivery / read status callbacks. We absorb these Twilio fees.

Can agencies resell at a margin?

Yes. The Business tier is built for resellers — charge your end clients more (1.5–2× our overage rate is typical) and pocket the difference on top of a per-client management fee. The bundled-credit + overage model is identical to what end-clients see.

Is Recko a compliant BSP?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We are an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) on Twilio's Tech Provider Program, which is itself a Meta-approved Business Solution Provider. Every WhatsApp Business Account is properly onboarded via Meta's Embedded Signup, every template is reviewed by Meta, and every message is billed transparently. We are not a grey-market re-seller.

How do you handle GDPR?

Customer phone numbers and conversation history are stored in EU-region infrastructure. We are a data processor under GDPR; you (the operator) are the data controller for your end customers. We provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) on request.

Can my client's WhatsApp account get banned?

Accepted Answer

It is rare and almost always avoidable. The two paths to a ban are (1) sending marketing messages to non-opted-in audiences, and (2) very low template quality scores from spam-flagging. Recko enforces opt-in at the template level and surfaces quality scores so you can react early.

Can one Recko account manage multiple business clients?

Yes — that's the core design. One organization manages many clients. Each client gets their own WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), fully isolated, with their own templates, conversations, and billing.

Yes. Multiple sender numbers can sit under one WABA, and approved templates carry across all numbers — meaning one approval works for every phone the client owns.

Which countries does Recko support?

Anywhere WhatsApp's Business Platform operates — practically every country except a few sanctioned regions. Per-message rates vary by country (set quarterly by Meta). We maintain rates for ~30 countries in our pricing engine and re-bump them each quarter.

Does Recko integrate with my booking system or CRM?

We are launching a public API for inbound integration (trigger sends from your booking system, receive delivery webhooks). For now, deep integrations with specific systems (Lightspeed, Resengo, Salonized, Funda CRM) are on the roadmap and prioritized by customer demand.
